Stop-Motion Character Animation: Team Grilled Cheesy

Working together with my friends David Johnson, Lauren Chin, and Jessica Lin, we formed Team Grilled Cheesy (inspired by making and eating grilled cheese sandwiches during the making of this short) to create a stop-motion character animation for our Physics of Animation class. It was a lot of fun collaborating, directing, shooting, and editing with these three. While they animated the characters, I directed the shots and took the pictures with a DSLR camera.

Here is the final product. Enjoy!

Stormy Dorris Comic - Second Chances

This semester I signed up to join a DLP (Distance Learning Program) class with the talented artist Nathan Fox! Our assignment was to create a comic narrative about a character or object named "Stormy Dorris" that was strictly magenta. I have never drawn comics before, so this was a great experience and I learned so much Nathan about story, character, and being an artist. Very thankful to have had this opportunity and receive constructive feedback from Nathan to make this comic even better. Enjoy!

115 Jump Test

Recent jump test animation for ANI 115. We practiced drawing and studying the model for Dean from The Iron Giant.

Cartoon Character Studies

Full body character studies for ANI 115. Very time-consuming, but I had a fun time drawing through so many of my favorite artists' styles!

Baseball Player Walk Pass #2!

It has been a crazy semester so far! Here's Pass #2 of my character walk! It went through quite a few changes, but I'm happy with this little guy. Hope I can finish all my revisions before next Tuesday to really enjoy my Easter break!

113B Final Forest

I just realized I forgot to post my final forest rendering from 113B last semester! This project was quite the learning experience. This forest turned out a lot better than my other one. I'll post that one after I fix it during this semester for my 114 portfolio.
