Tree Render Project

Second Pass!

First pass! Owen's giving us another chance to work on it some more before next Monday. He told me to spend more time rendering the bark, cleaning up the edges in the tree, and to define the three different textures on the branch with the berries.

And then it's time to prep for portfolio...!

Trees

Drew some trees for 113B. I need to work on being more observant and showing more contrast in values to help make my trees read better!

Sketchy Sketch

Just two sketches...
One from a Giants vs. Pirates game this past season (fun fact: I was able to get it signed by Benito Santiago, catcher for the Giants from 2001-2003)!

The second one is behind the scenes in the sound booth at my home church (I help make slides for the worship songs)! :)

I hope I consistently keep up with sketching some fun stuff, so I can share it here and put in my portfolio!

If you could be any superhero...

I'd want the superpower of drawing objects into existence!

Or maybe the ability to attend every single San Francisco Giants game...

"raw-titanium"

Over the summer, I joined a paint blog with some cool, talented friends called raw-titanium, but I was only able to contribute a few paintings unfortunately. (Sorry about the bad scans...oops!)
"we are wine bottles!!!"

I am seriously down to play ping-pong anytime, anywhere. Let's play, please!

My baseball cap :)

Bunnies and Shadows

This here is my midterm still life final for 113A in a limited/neutral palette. Learned plenty about patience, dedication, shapes, value, and how to paint metal (even though I had a tiny metallic object). Frustration and fun, yay!

113A Still Life Paintings!

Zorn Palette! After finishing this, I think I gave this green apple to my roommate, since I prefer eating Fuji apples. :)

Painting of an egg coated in black paint...

Toy Story 3 green alien figurine.

One of my many baseballs that has yet to be signed...

1 hour studies each! Last semester, these were a lot of fun to paint.

Preparation

As I prepare to apply for the portfolio review this semester, I will gather and post some of my work on this blog. I've been so very inspired by many illustrators (including my friends) and hope to get to their level very soon. I definitely need to keep my head in the game and focused as I have only a few weeks left to prepare and design my portfolio.

I also have a Digital Sketchbook this semester for 113B right here! Thanks for dropping by and hope you have a great day!

I'm excited (and nervous) for the next few weeks!
